Cultural Competency Workshops

The Arab American National Museum offers half- and full-day customized, interactive and immersive cultural competency workshops.

This program is designed for organizations with increasingly diverse demographics and/or organizations that are working with diverse communities. In collaboration with local scholars, religious leaders and professionals, AANM Cultural Competency Workshops are customized for each organization and their specific needs.

Workshop participants will gain a better understanding of the history, culture and contributions of Arab Americans through interactive cultural activities. Participation in these activities will serve as a basis for an honest and engaging dialogue about creating a more inclusive culture for employees and clients.

Our cultural competency workshops are best experienced at the Museum; however, off-site workshops will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Presentations

The Arab American National Museum offers a wide variety of educational presentations for school groups, educators, businesses, organizations and more.

Presentations are often included as part of a half or full-day cultural competency workshop, but may be a standalone program or part of a guided tour. Each presentation lasts approximately one hour with additional time for group discussion. These presentations can also be made off-site. Clients can choose from a set menu of presentations, or AANM staff can customize a presentation suitable for their needs.

All trainings, presentations and workshops can also be customized for a completely digital experience.
