See the world through the lens of photography this spring!
This year, AANM is pleased to introduce a series of youth-focused workshops, where students will learn and be immersed in the art of photography! AANM’s oldest running youth program, SURA Arts Academy helps students learn about the power of photography as a tool to share their story with the world.
Youth can sign up for one, several or all workshops.
These courses will all take place at AANM and are designed for students ages 14-18. Each day will be full of activities, photo scavenger hunts and snapping breathtaking photos! Students must have their own DSLR camera or use a camera provided by AANM. No experience necessary to participate.
Students’ work will be celebrated in the annual SURA Student Photography Exhibition at AANM in late 2023. Individuals who sign up for all workshops will get a complimentary AANM membership! Discounts associated with membership can be used for future SURA programs, among other programs and events.

Tuesday, May 2: Camera Crash Course — REGISTER
Understand the basics of your camera and how to take a good photo.
Thursday, May 4: Creative Photography — REGISTER
Students will use water, flowers, cardboard and other everyday materials to take their photos to the next level.
Tuesday, May 9: Portrait Photography — REGISTER
We all take selfies and photos of family/friends. Learn how to master those photos in our portrait workshop.
Thursday, May 11: Food Photography — REGISTER
If you’re the type to photograph a delicious meal, you’re certainly not alone! Get a hands-on photo lesson on how to capture your meal in the perfect photo.
Tuesday, May 16: Learning how to edit your photos — REGISTER
Those beautiful trees, that perfect sky, those cute ducks in the background! Learn how to make them stand out by honing your editing skills and attention to detail.
