Al Dar: Short Films from Yemen / الدار: افلام قصيرة من اليمن

In-person at AANM
Free with RSVP; Suggested $5 Donation

In partnership with Al Yamaniah and Yemen Art Base, we are pleased to bring you a night of short films from and about Yemen. These films have been created by a wide range of talented filmmakers both from Yemen and in the diaspora. All films will have English subtitles. In addition to great cinema, please join us for some delicious Yemeni sweets and coffee & tea following the screening.

One of our missions at the Arab American National Museum is to highlight stories, art and culture from our Arab American community, across the Arab World and all our diaspora. Films like our program below and films about Palestine are essential and necessary to tell stories, dispel stereotypes, educate the public and highlight realities. Solidarity between communities is important to stopping violence, achieving liberation, and working together to uplift each other. Film is one of those means to achieving connection, community, resistance and solidarity.

9 short films/Yemen, Yemeni diaspora/84 minutes/In Arabic (except the film, “Can Be”), with English Subtitles/In-Person Screening
