Almigdad Aldikhaiiry’s solo exhibition speaks to the environment, pollution and climate change, among other themes. As a Sudanese artist, Aldikhaiiry wants to confront the global political inaction we see and questions our unease around this climate crisis. Through his vibrant and surreal imagery, Aldikhaiiry’s work invites visitors to reflect on their roles in society and responsibilities toward our planet. Many of the works in this exhibition were created during his tenure as an AANM Artist-in-Residence.

Almigdad Aldikhaiiry is a Sudanese environmental artist, currently based in the U.S., who views art as a means to fight crises. He has devoted his artistic expertise to nature and climate change for over ten years. Whether long-term, significant changes in our environment happen naturally or in response to human activities, the evidence for rapid climate change is compelling, and Almigdad believes art can make a difference in the way we, as a global community, respond to it. Almigdad was a January 2021 AANM Artist-in-Residence and commissioned artist.
