Mona Poinsett (Revolving Table) presents Sfoof (Turmeric Tea Cake)
Ingredients:
2 and 1/4 cup flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup fine semolina
3/4 cup oil or melted butter (or a mix)
2 and 3/4 teaspoons turmeric
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pine nuts, almonds, or sesame seeds to garnish, if desired
Mona Poinsett is a Lebanese home cook from Dearborn, MI. She runs the account @revolvingtable to document her love affair with food, especially Arab food, and its historical, cultural and emotional significance. She holds a doctorate in developmental psychology which a special interest in Arab identity.
