The Grand Gala

Each October, our Arab American National Museum (AANM) staff, our Friends of AANM, and hundreds of community members look forward to the AANM Grand Gala with great anticipation. It is a time for us to gather to celebrate the Museum’s multiple achievements and to raise much-needed funds for our impactful and necessary educational programs that shed light on the stories that, together, make up our shared Arab American experience.

This October, in response to the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe facing our Palestinian siblings in Gaza right now, we have decided that it is best to cancel the 2023 AANM Grand Gala. This was a very hard decision for us all because we also believe that coming together with our community is one of the ways we find strength, support, and healing. For those who have sponsored or have already purchased tickets, we will be reaching out via email to share next steps.

The Gala is our largest Museum fundraiser for the year and it enables our educational programs. Although the Grand Gala will not take place, we are committed to ensuring that the educational programs this event makes possible will continue. This includes our Classroom Visits program, which allows thousands of children from underserved school districts to tour the Museum for free to learn about our history, culture and contributions. Recent events have illustrated the importance of the Museum’s educational work as we continue building bridges and dispelling stereotypes. Your generosity and investment make a huge difference.
