See the world through the lens of photography this summer!
This summer, AANM is pleased to introduce a series of youth-focused workshops, where students will learn and be immersed in the art of photography! AANM’s oldest running youth program, SURA Arts Academy, helps students learn about the power of photography as a tool to share their story with the world.
Students aged 14-18 are invited to sign up for one, several, or all of the daily workshops taking place around metro Detroit, Aug. 2-7!
Most workshops will take place at an outdoor location around the metro Detroit area, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. EDT. Parents will be responsible for bringing students to and from the specified location. Each day will be full of activities, photo scavenger hunts, and snapping breathtaking photos!
Students must have their own DSLR camera or a good cell phone camera to use. Some exceptions may apply. No experience necessary. Students’ work will be celebrated in AANM’s annual SURA Student Photography Exhibition in Fall 2021.
Individuals who sign up to the full package of all six workshops will receive a complimentary AANM Membership! Discounts associated with Membership can be used for future SURA programs, among other programs and events.

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Closed doors mean that our earned revenue streams have dried up, and corporate funds have been pivoted to assist with COVID-19 relief or for their own financial survival. We are looking forward to the day we can safely reopen, but until then, we need your support.
