Games for Change: Game Plan
Program Fee: $30
Application deadline: Monday, May 10, 2021
The Arab American National Museum, the Detroit Historical Society and Michigan Science Center are excited to announce an exciting new program in partnership with Games for Change, called Game Plan!
Game Plan is a two-year National Leadership Grants for Museums initiative to integrate game design into museums. We are excited to recruit middle and high school students to join this program to learn the beginning stages of game design, that will ultimately lead to creating a digital or tabletop working game!
Taking place through virtual workshops and coaching sessions on Thursday afternoons, May through July 2021, students will be exposed to different exhibits, artifacts and Metro Detroit history that they will incorporate into their games. Games for Change will also be hosting student-facing Game Jams where they will work directly with professional game designers and developers and will have the chance to receive feedback on their games, ask questions and perhaps, learn about career opportunities in game design.
If your child or student is interested in participating, sign up by Monday, May 10!
This program is supported and partially funded by the Institute of Museum & Library Services.

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Closed doors mean that our earned revenue streams have dried up, and corporate funds have been pivoted to assist with COVID-19 relief or for their own financial survival. We are looking forward to the day we can safely reopen, but until then, we need your support.
