In partnership with ArteEast and AFMI, AANM’s Arab Film Series Online this month brings us an intimate look at Sudanese youth—the challenges they face, the tough lessons learned and the pride of being the next generation to make an impact. Three short Sudanese films, directed by a powerhouse of young, brilliant Sudanese filmmakers, give us a glimpse into the triumphs and troubles facing this next generation.
Guests can view the film on demand, in the U.S. and Canada, from 6 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 15, 2021 to 11:59 p.m. EDT Sunday, July 18, 2021.
The program will feature a live, virtual talkback with directors Hashim Hassan (A Handful of Dates), Sarra Idris (Adam & Howa) and Suzannah Mirghani (Al-Sit) at 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 18.

Nafisa’s grandmother Al-Sit, the powerful village matriarch, has her own plans for Nafisa’s future. But can Nafisa choose for herself?
