Online Livestream
FREE with RSVP

AANM is pleased to co-sponsor the June episode of Reflection Sessions featuring current artist-in-residence, Egyptian American playwright, actor, author and creator Denmo Ibrahim — creative director of Storykrapht, a founding artistic director of Mugwumpin, a resident artist of Golden Thread, and a founding member of MENA Theatre Makers Alliance. This episode will feature the poem “In the Blood of Spring” from Eleven Reflections — with the all-new digital design! — and excerpts of Denmo’s work, including discussion of her newest project, Brilliant Mind.

Reflection Sessions are live, interactive, online events held on the second Tuesday of each month. Launched in September 2020 by Art2Action and the Carver Community Cultural Center, this series will continue through the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 later this year, in conjunction with the 2021 community-engaged theatre project “Eleven Reflections on the Nation: San Antonio.” These online sessions are live, interactive, art-based, participatory events reflecting on our nation in the post-9/11 era. Each session is grounded in a performance excerpt from Eleven Reflections on September, by Andrea Assaf, with guest artists, creative prompts, and facilitated dialogue.

Reflection Sessions are commissioned and co-presented by the Carver Community Cultural Center, as part of a multi-year residency in conjunction with Eleven Reflections: San Antonio, a component of the multi-site Art2Action project, Eleven Reflections on the Nation, supported in part by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art (DDFIA) Building Bridges program.

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Closed doors mean that our earned revenue streams have dried up, and corporate funds have been pivoted to assist with COVID-19 relief or for their own financial survival. We are looking forward to the day we can safely reopen, but until then, we need your support.

Your donation today will help us weather this crisis.
