NOTICE: Due to Covid-19 music lessons are not currently available. Please keep an eye on our website and follow us on social media for updates.
Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to register for traditional Arab music lessons at the Arab American National Museum.
Internationally recognized musician and educator Michael Ibrahim, founder and director of the National Arab Orchestra, offers customized private lessons and course packages for students of oud, tabla and riqq.
Lessons take place Monday evenings and Saturday mornings at the Museum.
Students must provide their own instrument.
Single 30-minute, 45-minute and 3-class packages (saves 10%) are available. Museum Members receive 15% off all lessons (10% package discount does not apply).
AANM accepts music students of all ages and abilities based on availability year-round. Prior to taking part in Music Lessons, all students must register online.

To better ensure a prompt response, please leave a detailed message regarding your inquiry, as well as your name and contact information. Missed Lessons and Tardiness
Consistency and commitment are the keys to developing and mastering any endeavor, including music. Therefore, students are expected to attend every music lesson in order to advance their skills. If a student must miss a lesson, please contact Kathryn Grabowski no later than forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the scheduled lesson day. Make-up lessons may be scheduled on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that your failure to notify AANM at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of an anticipated absence will result in no refund and the music lesson will not be rescheduled. Any tardiness of ten (10) minutes or more without notification may result in a missed lesson with no refund or rescheduling.
Weather Cancellations
AANM does not follow the public school open/close schedule. If you have questions regarding lesson cancellations due to inclement weather, please contact Kathryn Grabowski via email at kgrabowski “at” accesscommunity.org.
