Dream Big, Little One and Have You Thanked An Inventor Today with Sari Mira

Join us for a Black History Month-themed English-Arabic Storytime from the comfort of your home! Children ages 2-6 and their parents are invited to tune in as resident storyteller Sari Mira reads the books Dream Big, Little One by Vashti Harrison and Have You Thanked An Inventor Today by Patrice McLaurin, in both English and Arabic.

Dream Big, Little One introduces young readers to 18 trailblazing Black women in American history, whose actions and beliefs contributed to making the world better for generations of girls and women to come.

Have You Thanked An Inventor Today is a journey into the often forgotten contributions of African American inventors. It chronicles the school day of a little boy, highlighting different inventions that he uses throughout the day, all of which were invented by African Americans.

The Storytime will go up at 1 p.m. EST on Monday, Feb. 23 on our Storytime page, where you can also check out previous Online Storytimes.

Due to the pandemic, we have been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Closed doors mean that our earned revenue streams have dried up, and corporate funds have been pivoted to assist with COVID-19 relief or for their own financial survival. We are looking forward to the day we can safely reopen, but until then, we need your support.

Your donation today will help us weather this crisis.
