Noble Jewels: North African Jewelry and Photography from the Xavier Guerrand-Hermès Collection

For those who follow fashion, the name Hermès is synonymous with luxury, quality and craftsmanship. The same can be said of the North African jewelry collected by one member of the Hermès family. From May 5 through August 8, the AANM presents Noble Jewels: North African Jewelry and Photography from the Xavier Guerrand-Hermès Collection, featuring never-before-exhibited pieces of stunning jewelry from Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia, plus late 19th- and early 20th-century photographs by some of the period’s most prominent photographers. The exhibition in the Main Floor Gallery is free with Museum admission. Click HERE to read more.

From Mocha to LatteThrough August 15:
From Mocha to Latte: Coffee,
the Arab World and the $4 Cup

“Coffee culture” as we know it today has come a long way from its origins in the Arab World. Many myths surround the discovery of this fascinating beverage, but it is coffee’s Arab cultural roots that have generated the continuing social traditions, the coffeehouse and even some of the greatest intellectual achievements in human history. This exhibit explores the effects of coffee on the history of the Arab World and consequently, the rest of the world. Come sit down, share a cup (free coffee, tea or hot chocolate for all visitors) and learn about this amazing brew. In the Lower Level Gallery; free with Museum admission.
