Abjeez has triumphantly returned to the world stage with a current tour in Sweden and the upcoming “Love Rebels” U.S. Tour to support their latest work titled Paa Sho.

The sisters kicked off the tour with a dynamic performance on March 14th at the outdoor 2017 Eldfesten festival in Stockholm, which was broadcast, live on Swedish television.\

Abjeez debuted two new songs including the single “Crossing Borders” and performed at Stora Teatern (national theater) in Gothenburg on March 22nd

Their exhilarating final show was at Kagelbana/Sodra Teatern in Stockholm. The sisters thrilled their audience with a setlist filled with mostly new songs from their soon to be released 2017 album Paa Sho along with a few fan favorites such a “Barab Barab”.

After nearly eight years since delivering their last full-length album Perfectly Displaced, sisters Safoura and Melody Safavi who form the Persian band Abjeez have been anything but dormant during this time off from studio work.

On the contrary, their latest production and first single “Crossing Borders” is a testament of their unwavering dedication to their music, which oozes with pulsating reggae rhythms as well as displaying a mature and refreshing Abjeez sound.

A full-length album is set to release, and they have stirred up the Persian music world with a second single and video titled “Rakht”. The new direction and sound also includes their trademark ska and rock rhythms with vibrant instrumentation throughout.

It’s a musical journey and the sisters don’t shy away from making this unspoken statement of artistic freedom and expression with crisp production, creative, multi-faceted songwriting and poetic lyricism.

Abjeez’ loyal fan base have waited excitedly for the much anticipated album which comes at a crossroads in the music industry.  Lyricist and singer Melody pays tribute to the immigrant experience and to the art of words famously etched in the culture of her native land of Iran.

A much-anticipated U.S. tour will cover cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Dearborn, Washington D.C., Boston, and New York City.

If their last sold-out 2015 performance in New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge is a sign of things to come, then get ready for an exciting time in the coming months for the music world with Abjeez!!!

The event is co-sponsored by SGP and Swedish Arts Council.
