2010 SURA Student Photography Exhibition

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of a beloved, free, after-school program for youth with SURA Arts Academy’s Student Photography Exhibition, Sept. 18 -Oct. 31, 2010.

SURA Arts Academy

SURA students are exposed the mechanics of photography and learn to see their neighborhood and the greater community in a fresh, new way, both in the classroom and on field trips.

Based at the AANM and winner of one of just 15 prestigious 2008 Coming Up Taller Awards from the Presidents Council on the Arts and the Humanities, SURA has touched hundreds of students from the metro Detroit area during its ten years. Some of its earliest students have even gone on to pursue degrees and careers in photography.

This exhibition features selections of student work from the 2010 sessions, with a special look back at the best photos from past years.

In the Lower Level Gallery; free w/ Museum admission.
